Renz Olex Mar Canlas is the current Project Manager pf PSS Philippines, Transmission Line Design Lead, and Team Leader.
He is a Civil Engineer and a graduate of Bulacan State University with a strong professional background in structural and transmission line engineering.
He is a member of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) and is a Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Safety Officer 2 (SO2) with Training of Trainers certification, reflecting his commitment to both engineering excellence and workplace safety.
Renz has developed technical expertise in the analysis, design, and detailing of transmission line and structural components, supported by practical experience in quantity takeoff, cost estimation, site inspection, and project supervision. He is proficient in a wide range of engineering and drafting software, including PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, L-Pile, TNX Tower, AutoCAD 2D and 3D, SketchUp, SpaceGass, STAAD.Pro, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office. His capabilities also extend to the preparation of cutting lists, rebar schedules, engineering estimates, and foundation-related design support.
His professional work is guided by a strong understanding of local and international engineering standards and design codes relevant to overhead transmission lines, structural steel, concrete, piling, wind loading, conductors, insulators, and electrical clearance requirements. These include major references such as AS/NZS 7000 for overhead line design, AS/NZS 1170.2 for structural wind actions, ASCE 48 for steel transmission pole structures, AS 2159 for piling, AS 3600 for concrete structures, AS 4100 for steel structures, and other utility-specific and electrical safety standards used in transmission line and power infrastructure design.
